Bob has a particular interest in buildability issues and the practical aspects of how buildings perform throughout their life. He advises contractors on the temporary works needed to alter the structure of existing buildings and is also involved in checking show rigs such as for Cirque du Soleil at the Royal Albert Hall.He has a long association with the Institution of Structural Engineers at national and local level, becoming a fellow in 1998, serving on its council and committees, and lecturing on CPD courses on the assessment of existing buildings. He is co-author of the institution’s publication ‘Appraisal of Existing Structures (3rd Ed).
