About Bob Steinmetz
With over 20 years of experience in global product development, I am a passionate and innovative engineering leader, who strives to break down barriers by fostering cross-functional collaboration and optimizing business processes, allowing teams to deliver exceptional results with minimal stress.I firmly believe that organizations need strong leaders at all levels, and that is how I have approached every individual contributor role throughout my career. I never settle for status quo when status quo is anything less than smooth, efficient, and painless. When I encounter a process or tool that is broken, incomplete, or missing entirely, I take the lead in bringing a team together to solve the issue.Beyond the leadership opportunities I extracted from my roles lies a wealth of customer-centric product development engineering experience. As an NVH engineer, I enjoyed 10 years of exciting hands-on vehicle testing and prototype development from the first roughly cobbled-together mule vehicles all the way through post-launch continuous improvement. For the following ten years, I focused on the analytical side of product development as a full-vehicle powertrain NVH CAE engineer. In this role, I was involved in guiding designs from early concepts through to post-production, ensuring that our customer-facing attributes were delivered with quality, on time, and at the best cost.In my most recent role, in ADAS UX & Advanced Attributes, I led the experience engineering for an SAE Level 4 low-speed autonomy concept, which involved Design Thinking, Model Based Systems Engineering, and Requirements Engineering, among other disciplines.
