While getting a fresh start here in Asheville in May of 2015, in early spring of 2023, we more than doubled our footprint to include the Cashiers and Highlands Plateau. Having had great success in the Asheville Market, we accept the challenge of proving ourselves in the Plateau Market. We are well in the know in SW Florida, having been in business there since 1988. Nita and I got our start in a little warehouse unit, selling a full line of new Magic Chef Appliances, as well as keeping a nice inventory of reconditioned appliances. In '91, the Maytag Corporation, also the parent company of Magic Chef, offered to assist us in moving to a much larger storefront on a major thorough-way, if we'd agree to join their family of Maytag Home Appliance Centers.Friday, August 13th 2004, that would all change when Hurricane Charley would make landfall in our quaint little historic community, severely damaging or destroying 6,000 plus structures, our Maytag Store being one of them. Since that memorable day in 2004, we would expand our territory four more times. Before Asheville, in 2007 we expanded into Naples FL, demanding a level of service that we are accustomed to delivering.We closed on a home in Hendersonville in January of '16 and looked forward to calling WNC home. We service all major brands while also performing dryer vent cleanings, greatly reducing the loss of property and even life itself, due to residential house fires caused by restricted or obstructed dryer vents.We truly live by our Mr Appliance Code of Values, as do we expect of our team, treating others as we wish to be treated while also loving our neighbor. Being at the helm of Mr Appliance in Southwest Florida is a vehicle which allows me to do what I enjoy most. This being to help others grow, both personally and professionally, inside and outside of our organization. Our corporate staff provides us with the support and technology, keeping us in the forefront of our industry. We have been in business since 1988, joining the Mr Appliance team in the fall of 2004, immediately following the destruction of our Maytag Home Appliance Center by Hurricane Charley. I truly love what I do, waking each day in excitement, knowing I have some control of my direction and destination.

This being our third territory, I must swiftly and efficiently turn it into an asset in our portfolio. First and foremost I must dive into doing God's work here in Asheville, as I have done in SW Florida. Secondly, I must continue to demonstrate to our team here, as well as in Florida, that they are why I do what I do. Lastly, is to make it very clear to Asheville that we are transparent, trust worthy, tenacious while gentle and here to stay. It's a very exciting time at Mr Appliance.

Certainly the two most exciting, memorable years of my life. I was "so at home" with great friends, doing what I had always dreamed of doing. I was with the 6/327th, becoming the 172nd Airborne Infanty Brigade while I was still there. They are currently the 172nd Infantry Strike Brigade and have been deployed to the middle east on a few occasions. We were the only official "Artic Paratroopers", as our unit annually jumped in, onto the frozen over Bering Strait and then setting up a perimeter on a missile site in Kotzebue AK, which is north of the Artic Circle. This is where we would be hunted by the beautiful Polar Bear. My assignment was the company commander's RTO, carrying his necessary radios, communication needs and weaponry. I would later be forced out due to a back injury, qualifying for disability, which I have yet to claim, feeling as there are others far more deserving than I. I learned more of myself and life in these two years than I had the previous 22. The leadership skills I would learn with Capt Ferriter, recently retired a 4 Star General, would forever change my life. He and I were the last to rest or take shelter, only doing so after assuring all others were accounted for and safe.
