I completed 3 years of College at St. Lawrence taking Musical Theatre. This experience was my first step to independence and really helped shape who I have become today. During my time here I faced many challenges that helped me gain many skillsets needed to survive in todays world. I learned how to handle constructive criticism, as this is one of the foundations of this course.I learned how to prioritize my work. We had many assignments per week, most of them were performances. This was paired with our classes (dance, vocal, acting masterclass, etc.) that we were to attend and rehearsals during the evening and weekends that were also mandatory. I learned empathy and compassion as rejection and criticism can be difficult for others and I would console my peers during difficult times. Taking this course was one of the best experiences and decisions I ever made.I also took Early Childhood Education for two years where I learned about the development of young children and how to help them build skills and meet milestones through planning and implementing fun activities. I have worked with children for 5 years and it has been very rewarding working with families to help their children and watching them blossom into wonderful people. I am an incredibly organized person, I am very detail oriented, I am patient and I love to learn. If I don’t know how to do something but I am interested in learning how to do it, I will figure it out.
