The Ohio Society for Healthcare Consumer Advocacy, commonly known as OSHCA, is an affiliate society of the Ohio Hospital Association. With over 100 members across the state, our mission is to promote the advancement of health care consumer advocacy by providing leadership, education and support to our membership and by serving as a resource to professionals and consumers across the healthcare continuum. Our members come from a variety of backgrounds and have many different job titles. We are patient advocates, ombudsmen, patient representatives, guest relations coordinators, nurses, social workers, chaplains, and others who are currently employed in a consumer advocacy role by an OHA member hospital. Healthcare Consumer Advocates seek to assure the rights and needs of consumers are met and met well in today’s dynamic healthcare environment.
