Sr. Manager Software Development
Managed an agile team that consists of both database and letter composition staff as a scrum master. My team supports one of the largest clients for the Texas based side of the business. We work on approximately 75 tickets a week. 75% of work is change management, 15% on new onboarding projects and 10% miscellaneous tasks. Utilized a product named: JIRA to help meet organizational objectives and to keep projects on schedule. Working in a production world, priorities were constantly changing and so every day you had to be ready to pivot to something else.Managed three teams: Letter Composition, Database, and Tools. Moving old GMC workflows over to a newer release of Designer. Also moving workflow processing over to GMC’s NetServer product to stop licensing issues. Moving clients to a new automation platform that allows lights out processing which will reduce the amount of manual time spent on processing jobs. Enforce the use of SubVersion for all projects to maintain version control and easier rollback procedures. Started a new QC procedure where each developer has to verify that their changes made it into production after a promotion is made and that it works correctly. Rebuilding the IT team through both training and replacement of key positions. Part of the training includes bimonthly lunch and learns by a team member on a particular topic. Support three production centers with process improvements, conversions, or problem research.
