Design Manager for Mechanical, Electrical, Energy Management projects related primary to the HVAC field at MCAS-CP, NC. Tasks consist of minor design of project through the (PWD) Public Works Department and Review and Comments of progressive submittals by A/E firms of major construction projects. MCAS-CP is in the process of older building demolition and new infrastructure for the planned location of the Marine Corp latest Joint Strike Jet Fighters, the vertical take-off and landing of the F-35B.
Mechanical Engineer
I am a member of the Engineering Section of the [RDSD] Research and Development Service Division. This section performs architectural, engineering, and shop services work with construction, repair, or alteration projects associated with mission critical research at all of the Naval Research Laboratory facilities. This position includes mechanical utilities for additions, renovations, to existing facilities and minor new construction projects. This incumbent also serves as an expert advisor and/or team leader in planning, organizing, and directional efforts for mechanical projects. Mechanical utilities refers to [HVAC] heating, ventilating, and air conditioning, plumbing, utilities distribution, fire protection, compressed gas systems, etc. He also developments the [SOW] Scope of Work, AutoCAD Drawings, Spec Intact Specifications, [IGE] independent government estimates for smaller in-house or Supply Contract projects developed solely by this mechanical engineer. On larger projects the concepts, principles, and practices of mechanical engineering, are required to serve as an expert in developing specifications, design criteria, make surveys, studies, develop special reports, and briefings, covering the preliminary planning state through project completion. As a [COR] Contracting Officers Representative the responsibility of managing the [IDIQ] indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity contracts for [A/E] architectural / engineering design work, outlined in the scope of work, includes submission review, organization of other division oversight comments (Safety, Environmental, ATFP, etc.) and invoicing approval through [WAWF] wide area workflow on-line program. The job description states that the incumbent is typically assigned difficult projects that require innovative solutions. He also serves as a technical advisor to lower grade engineers.

Considerable time was spent on the shop floor troubleshooting installations, start-up and testing the operations of the various systems.
