The Institute of Catholic Culture (ICC) provides both seminary-level and online adult education in all topics related to Catholic Culture. IN 2020, they went from hybrid training to fully remote training. I was already familiar with how programs were offered both so when there were opportunities to manually test the mobile app, I jumped at the opportunity. I also found bugs on the website where a misconfiguration allowed non-religious access to registration to religious-only courses. My volunteer work here is a good example of how I quickly find bugs after redesign of mobile apps and websites. As a volunteer, I test for them pro-bono as needed.

This is my consulting company. I help agile teams and customers to better understand the software products they are building so they meet business needs with minimal risk and fast time to market. I enjoy teaching new teams how to effectively transition to using agile methods. My aim when consulting is to provide value to the client by integrating: customer, development, release engineering, test, and documentation teams.Designed test harness for testing ingestion of medical informatics data from XML source feeds into a database for downstream processing. Produced example tests showing how to use the tools for a feature using all aspects that the harness was capable of. Worked with another contract developer/tester who was writing a test management infrastructure in Java and MySQL. Adapted and used this test management infrastructure to work with functionality needed by the test harness.I also work with AgileBazaar.org facilitating teams that technical seminars. This has been a great way to learn how to lead teams where the stakeholders are intrinsically motivated. (These skills translate into healthy principles that work extremely well on agile teams.)

AgileBazaar.org runs professional development seminars in the Boston, MA area focused on various aspects of Lean/Agile software development and team/productivity building. I've assisted coordinating volunteer teams for for AgileBazaar's most recent three weekend seminars. We use a hybrid agile/Scrum methodology that we've tuned specifically toward volunteer efforts with mostly local teams but with a need to serve global attendees.
