Others: Star Wars, LOTR, The Descent of a Woman (made me angry that the director make the actress go through that). Many rom-coms and comedies, action movies are worth two hours of my time, but often not as much as four. That is, after another few minutes of talking about it, I forget it, with no regret.Country music. Some Christian music.Tried to pick up guitar, could only get so far. Tried penny-whistle, it turned out to be more complicated than I thought. Have sung in choirs, solos at church (it was a small church and they were desperate to have someone besides the women sing a solo).Preached a Sunday sermon with only twenty minutes notice. I had just finished a Sunday School lesson, and when the scheduled substitute preacher didn’t show that Sunday, I re-taught the lesson with only slight variations. One man said, “I’ve heard worse sermons!”Enjoy witty sayings, jokes. Used to collect “rules”, e.g. Law of Expert Advice: Never ask the barber if you need a haircut.Steampunk is fascinating to me because of the cool looking mechanical stuff, the machines that crunch and munch along because of human ingenuity, not just computer algorithms. Not to mention the adventure spirit inherent in those who are imagined to live in such a world. They scrap and scramble and figure out a way to make things work, make things happen.
