Bob Uhlig, FASLA LEED AP BD+C, Vice President of Landscape Architecture and Urban Design at Halvorson | Tighe & Bond Studio, with 33+ years of experience in creative and distinct urban design and institutional solutions for parks, waterfronts, streetscapes, corporate, commercial/ retail, residential and campus landscapes. Serves as a Principal on sophisticated multi-disciplinary projects requiring creative site design and engineering solutions focusing on natural systems while seamlessly integrating art and architecture.Principal-in-Charge on the following award winning projects: Lakewood Garden Mausoleum at Lakewood Cemetery, Minneapolis, MN recognized with the 2014 ASLA Award of Excellence; Boston Architectural College Green Alley, Boston, MA, presented with 2014 Mayor’s Greenovate Boston Award; Atlantic Wharf, Boston, MA winner of the 2012 ULI Global Award of Excellence for sustainable development; and South Boston Maritime Park, South Boston, MA recognized with the 2006 ASLA Honor Award. Bob’s was made a 2017 ASLA Fellow in recognition of his contributions to the profession and in 2015 recognized with the 2015 ASLA Honor Award for Research for “Below the Surface: Evaluating Urban Soil Performance Over Time,” a research project and report completed in collaboration with Morton Arboretum, Bartlett Tree and Reed Hilderbrand. Bob is a registered landscape architect in Massachusetts, Connecticut, New Hampshire, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Minnesota and Rhode Island.Bob is a mayoral appointee and Chair of the Newburyport Redevelopment Authority; served as Chair of the Newburyport Parks Commission from 1996 to 2015; served as representative to the Newburyport Community Preservation Committee from 2005 to 2015; serves on the Revere Beach Design Review Board, appointed by the Secretary of Housing and Economic Development; serves on the Landscape Architectural Advisory Board for the Boston Architectural College and as a periodic guest lecturer and critic at the institution.
