Jan Bogaert specialises in Belgian company law, mergers & acquisitions, and corporate finance, with a special emphasis on FDI, cross-border transactions, and transactional real estate.Jan’s practice concentrates on corporate law and on domestic and cross-border M&A transactions, with a particular focus on real estate. He provides tailor-made and commercially pragmatic advice to clients and is acknowledged by the leading international legal directories. Jan leads Stibbe’s China desk and has ample experience in advising Chinese, Korean, Japanese, and ASEAN clients on their outbound investments. Although Jan is a Brussels native, he has lived and worked in Paris, London, New York and Hong Kong (where he was in charge of Stibbe’s office there from 2012 to 2017), thus adding a wealth of international experience to his transactional expertise. Jan is also active in serving various organisations. He is a director of the Belgian-Chinese Chamber of Commerce, a member of the Tax & Legal Committee of the American Chamber of Commerce, and Vice-President of the Cross-Border Investment Committee of the Inter-Pacific Bar Association (IPBA).
