My whole life, I’ve been intrigued by how to draw conclusions from data collected and find the meaning behind numbers. I started my academic journey from studying physics at University of Toronto (U of T). Fascinated by the human brain, I applied machine learning algorithms to decode information hidden in the neurons as a Master student at U of T. Now, I am applying analytical techniques to multiple projects. For example:- I’ve created predictive models for the growth of confirmed cases of COVID-19 in different countries using Python packages.-

Reseach AsistantUniversity Of Toronto May 2017 - Jan 2019Toronto, Canada Area- Identified the unique roles of 3 distinct neuron types in temporal associative memory by applying supervised machine learning algorithms (SVM and ensemble LDA). The results were published in an academic journal.- Applied repeated measures ANOVA and non-parametric tests (Mann–Whitney U test and Kruskal–Wallis test) to compare between neuron types, resulting conclusions based on statistical significance- Motivated 2 volunteers to generate accurate data and perform experiments, resulting accelerated research progress- Communicated my research through presentations and written reports with a variety of audience including professors and the general public -
Undergradute Research Project StudentToronto Western Hospital Sep 2015 - Apr 2016Toronto, Canada AreaI developed computational model containing large neural networks (30,000 randomly connected neurons) from biological facts using PythonThe mathematical model contained two coupled differential equations and stochastic differential equations (Ornstein–Uhlenbeck process). I wrote Bash scripts to use High Performance Computing System (Neuroscience Gateway) for running simulations. The results from these simulations were related back to the biological brain. -
Summer Research StudentThe Hospital For Sick Children May 2015 - Aug 2015Toronto, Canada AreaI modeled neurons in the spinal cord with conductance based computational neuron models (Morris-Lecar model) connected by bi-exponential excitatory and inhibitory synapses. I used the model to predict the outcome of chloride dysregulation inside neurons. The results matched experimental observations. I presented my results to the public on the Undergraduate Engineering Research day (UnERD 2015). -
Summer Student ResearcherUniversity Of Toronto International Genetically Engineered Machines (Igem) Team May 2014 - Oct 2014University Of TorontoI worked in U of T iGEM team to create alternative method for bio containment. I preformed both wet lab experiments and computational simulations. I am familiar with general wet lab techniques and I am able to write code for mathematical model. For wet labs, I follow strict methodology and safety procedures. I am also able to learn quickly and apply my knowledge, critical thinking skills to achieve my goal.
