Manage a staff of 8 employees and oversees care of animals in the Livestock department. Establishes and updates area standard operating procedures for animal care, staff and guest safety, animal enrichment and training, provides professional development opportunities for staff. Works with zoo curatorial and executive team to implement new ideas and continually aim to improve guest experience. Coordinates the Florida Animal Care Professionals Development workshops - an affordable, ongoing quarterly series of professional development workshops open to all animal care professionals in the state of Florida.

Provide daily care to hospitalized animals and animals in quarantine or holding. Assist with veterinary procedures, administer medical treatments as directed by veterinary staff, assist with necropsies, Maintain detailed records on animals under my care, implement enrichment and training programs when appropriate. Manage browse donation program. Work collaboratively with FWC, USFW and DAK to breed endangered Key Largo Woodrats and reintroduce them into protected areas. Proposed and implemented an affordable, ongoing quarterly professional development workshop open to all animal care professionals in the state of Florida.
