Worked to promote and spread continuous improvement principles at a Harvard affiliated academic medical center in order to improve patient access, quality, and cost. Responsible for coaching and facilitating BIDMC employees using the lean approach in numerous continuous improvement initiatives throughout the organization, including optimizing delivery of patient care on inpatient units and in ambulatory clinics, designing an integrated medication management system across pharmacy, medicine, nursing and IT, and redesigning facilities in the hospital using the 3P (Production Preparation Process) methodology. As part of the spread of a culture of improvement, collaborated on the development and delivery of lean training for 200+ senior leaders at BIDMC and a lean practitioner training program to immerse 1000+ front-line hospital employees, physicians and fellows in structured problem solving.

Delivered courses to 30+ hospital physicians and CEOs in the Egyptian Ministry of Health’s physician Leadership Academy. Co-designed a comprehensive curriculum to develop participants’ skills for analyzing workflow and systems to redesign work processes with an emphasis on mobilizing staff to make improvements.
