ExperienceOver the years, I have accumulated experience in both small and large IT environments with varying purposes and complexity. The majority of my career, however, I have worked in larger environments with high demands. In recent years, I have focused a little less on the technology and more on the team, in the role of Team Lead and Product Owner for IT Infrastructure at Carnegie. I have also worked hands-on, which I think is both fun and important for maintaining knowledge. The mix of leadership and hands-on work within both operations and projects has suited me very well.Further back, I worked more with technology hands-on. Among the merits can be mentioned the main responsibility for the construction and continuous growth of the VMware environment for an e-commerce platform with uptime requirements 24/7 and only 4 scheduled service windows per year. This also includes establishment of a new data center with replication and failover for disaster protection. The company was aquired by Capgemini and with this the staffing situation changed a lot. On a daily basis I collaborated with teams and managers in Poland, Romania, India and Germany.VisionMy personal vision is to continuously produce high-quality platforms for business services by staying on top of current and future technology. The challenge to make the most out of constantly evolving technology while keeping stability and efficiency at top level appeal to me. Learning the details first, to successfully create the best high-level design, is something I believe in. For this reason I’m combining hands-on operations with architectural tasks such as solution design. In order to maintain a high level of quality, the managing team behind the technology must also have good conditions to do so, which is where my intrerest in collaboration and leadership topics come from.KnowledgeA complete IT delivery uses a variety of technologies and all of them must work well both individually and together. I have experience from all subjects within IT infrastructure and am generally more of a generalist than a deep detailer.I have extensive knowledge in Server hardware, Windows, Linux/BSD, VMware, SAN/Storage, backup, networking (Switches, routers, Wifi, WAN, Internet, TCP/IP, DNS, Firewall, VPN) and more.Solid experience from the operations department, which includes, among other things, documentation, monitoring, creation of routines, planning of maintenance windows, supplier follow-up and other contacts with external parties, procurement, license/contract management, recruitment and more.
