Professionally,I’m a software engineer with 6+ years of experience in designing, developing and testing software in industry. I have a creative attitude and enjoy utilising a skillset that’s both broad and in-depth in order to solve challenges in the most practical way to ensure the satisfaction of both customers and co-workers. For this purpose, I try to combine the best applicable and cutting-edge technologies together with a healthy dose of criticism, good practices, and willingness to learn and catch up with the latest insights.I like and am experienced working both in a team and independently.Personally,I have always enjoyed making things, from playing with Lego as a kid, to worldbuilding/mythopoeia using creative writing, and making videogames.One of my current hobby projects is developing a modification for a well-known sandbox game to expand it with advanced chemical and metallurgical industrial engineering, both for fun and for educating myself and other community members. (see https://github.com/BorisMulder/gt6x)I find it important and satisfying to help others and I am currently doing volunteering work as a language coach for refugees.Socialising with friends and acquaintances is an essential part of life for me, and when together I like to play strategical, competitive and cooperative board- and card games.I listen to a great range of music genres and artists and sometimes try learn to play these songs on the piano after hearing them.I like to discover the world by reading and travelling, and in the meantime learn new things about places, nature, people, culture, languages, arts, history, science, and psychology, all while enjoying and pondering the wonders and the small as well as the big questions of life.
