Non-Profit established after the loss of my youngest son Travis to Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA) at the age of 14. On May 20, 2005 Travis was three weeks away from graduation from the 8th grade when he collapsed at his middle school in Murrieta, CA. He had suffered a Sudden Cardiac Arrest caused by a previously undiagnosed heart condition called Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy. He was taken to Children's Hospital in San Diego by helicopter. Travis spent a total of four weeks in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit. An MRI was taken to ascertain the extent of the damage to his brain. The MRI revealed massive brain cell death - Travis had gone 23 minutes without circulation. He was blind, he was completely paralyzed, he could not speak and he could not chew or swallow. Travis died a week later on June 25, 2005. I was holding him when he took his last breath. He was 14 years old. The Travis R. Roy Sudden Cardiac Arrest Fund was created in memory of Travis. Our motto reflects our mission "Raising awareness so others may survive". Sudden Cardiac Arrest is the leading cause of death in America claiming more than 325,000 lives per year (one person every two minutes). Ironically, it is the most preventable cause of death if CPR is initiated immediately and an AED is deployed to shock the heart back in to a normal rhythm. Our goal is to raise awareness about SCA, encourage people to learn CPR and to place Automated External Defibrillators (AED's) in schools and public facilities in California. To-date, we have been responsible for the placement of 228 AED's in Riverside and San Diego County schools Taught 150 people CPR and have had three "saves" (so far). We also believe that CPR should be a graduation requirement.Responsibilities include: Budgeting, marketing, public relations, grant writing, newsletters, social media, web site design/maintenance, fund raising/special events coordinator, advocacy and public speakimy.

• Escalated Production Support (EPS) team member servicing over 250,000 University of California employees at multiple sites and resolving their payroll issues in a shared services environment.• Daily collaboration with employees, departments, shared services and UCPath internal work streams to resolve issues in the most timely manner possible.• Extensive knowledge of UC System payroll on and off-cycle processing, reconciliation, payroll taxation, retirement and pension plans, garnishments, over payments, underpayments, one time pay processing, general deduction processing, off-cycle payroll, retro payments and adjustments, time and attendance inquiries and resolution as well as non-resident alien support.• Monthly metrics analysis and reporting to senior management via Sales Force custom designed reports/dashboards.• Support the development/updating of training materials, records management, documentation of processes and procedures, process flow maps.• Extensive use of UC Path Payroll System (People Soft), Sales Force, Share Point, FileNet, Halogen, Excel (pivot tables, nested formulas, look-ups), Visio, Word and Outlook.

Responsible for bi-weekly, semi-monthly and monthly payroll for 8 Charter Schools in California, Florida and Louisiana. STRS/PERS Processing. Garnishments, 403b and other benefit deductions. Extensive use of MS Excel, Outlook, Access, SharePoint and Pay Bridge payroll software.

Responsible for Special District Administration for 15 cities in Southern California. Extensive interaction with property owners, and senior level staff of client cities. Responsibilities include: Annual Property Tax Levy, Hand Bills for Levy, Levy Reconciliation, Applied Reports, Annual Reports, Annual Continuing Disclosures, Quarterly Financial Reports, Financial Analysis of Districts, Cost Recovery Analysis, Engineer’s Reports (sets levy rate for year), Delinquency Management (Reminder and Demand Letters, Budget Analysis, referrals to Bankruptcy) and Bond Calls. Extensive use of MS Excel, Word and Outlook as well as data base analysis and reporting via Crystal reports.

Senior Financial Analyst - - Developed and maintained large databases and provided statistical metrics, financial analysis and reporting on historic, trended and current business data to senior management. - Monthly reporting, data mining thousands of credit transactions, auditing against contracted price levels per department/division. - Successfully engaged in multiple initiatives simultaneously- Monitored and reported on thousands of credit data transaction expenses from all three credit bureaus. - Responsible for Credit Data Accounts Payable (> $5.5 million per month). - All tasks accomplished through the use of PC, Local Area Network and Web based technologies and applications. - Primary programs used were MS Outlook, Word, Power Point, Visio and Excel (Pivot Tables, Macros, Charts, Graphs, multi-linked worksheets, etc), as well as data down loads from multiple sources in multiple formats into MS Access Databases then into Excel for reporting purposes. IT Business Analyst - - Maintained financial metrics, as well as contractor, payroll and budgetary performance reporting for an IT Department of over 135 employees and contractors with a budget in excess of $20 million. - Monthly General Ledger Analysis - hardware/software, payroll and other departmental expenses.- FTE and Consultant Analysis- IT org charts, monthly payroll analysis, consultant expense analysis. - Coordinated Annual Focal Point Review (raises) and Quarterly IT Bonus process - with IT management and accounting for 135 employees.- Tracked IT maintenance agreements (>$2 million annually). - Processed Consultant and Maintenance invoices (included invoices from consultants from multiple locations and countries as well as LAN software/hardware maintenance contracts).
