Fethr (a Black Swan Data company) provides in-flight entertainment (IFE) technology to the airline industry. I worked on a system which airlines use to manage a variety of functions for their IFE portals. These functions include content-, translation- and release management. My main involvement was on the Java back-end with a fair amount of work done on the Angular front-end. This involved new feature development, creating MVPs for new microservices as well as general maintenance and refactoring.

I worked in the Engineering Support Services department at Sasol Mining. The department provided engineering and project management support to six Sasol mines. I managed projects from pre-feasibility all the way through to implementation and commissioning. Some projects involved collaboration with external parties as well as contractor management.Some of my projects and duties included:• Fulfilling the role of Project Manager on the roll-out of two different Proximity Detection Systems underground on electrical machines• Managing a team of three people for the Proximity Detection System (Collision Avoidance) roll-out• Representing Sasol at the Chamber of Mines Transport and Machinery work group meetings on a regular basis• Working together with external companies on a R&D project to measure seismic activities• Fulfilling the role of Project Manager on the installation of a fuel management system on surface as well as underground• Working together with a project team and service providers to build a new surface dam and to install a fibre optic network connection to the dam’s pump station as well as to connect all instrumentation equipment to the network• Understanding intrinsically safe electronic equipment and hazardous area classifications
