For the past five years, my work has centred on Settlement, Immigration, employment, and grant writing.As the Community Economic Development coordinator leading the YESS program for Social planning Council of Ottawa, I made a significant impact by facilitating the placement of over 172 youths into the labour force. Over three years, I effectively managed a team of two employees and three volunteers.As a youth and family worker at the Catholic Centre for Immigrants, I engaged with 500 families within eighteen months. My contribution included;-Developed a Clients Tracking Model for Newcomers,-Enhanced outreach efforts and-Achieved a 98% youth participation rate during the COVID-19 pandemic.Over three years, I demonstrated my proficiency in securing funding by successfully raising resources for the Youth Engagement and Community Outreach (YECO-Canada) program. Additionally, I volunteer as a grant writer for HomeBase Yellowknife and Northwest Territory Integration and Community Services (NWT-ICS).Grant writing, though challenging, is a passion of mine. The joy of it tends to diminish only when the rejections start pouring in. Presently, I serve as a settlement adviser for CDETNO, Yellowknife, NT, a role I enjoy intensely.
