Current Position I have been a Consultant Colorectal Surgeon at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham since 2002. Before that I was a senior lecturer in surgery the University of Birmingham from 1998. As a colorectal surgeon I have expertise across number of areas which include cancer surgery, pelvic floor surgery, being coloproctology and inflammatory bowel disease.I set up one of the UK’s first obstetric injury clinics in 2000. Since then I’ve built a successful team to deliver complex pelvic cancer surgery. Throughout my career I've played key roles in introducing new techniques and technologies; from colonic stenting to sacral nerve modulation and laparoscopic and robotic colorectal surgery, both within the NHS and private sector.In the last few years I’ve become increasingly interested and developed expertise in the business of private practice.
