Matt earned his Bachelor Degree in Applied Science majoring in Communications and Graphic Design from the University of Michigan-Flint in 2009. Prior to that, Matt earned his Associate Degree in Applied Science with Honors from Mott Community College in 2007. During his matriculation, Matt served on the Honors Steering Committee, and was on the Dean’s List for nine consecutive semesters as well as the National Dean’s List for one semester. Matt was a finalist at the LAND Student Scholars Conference for his paper, “Wikipedia: And the Nature of Truth”. Other major accomplishments include one year of service in the U.S. Armed Forces, where he earned many Infantry-related awards, including the distinguished Blue Cords, Expert Badges in marksmanship, as well as the Army Service Badge.Matt has over 5 years of graphic design experience and training including college. Matt has designed and contributed to several published websites, including www.etshost.com, www.flintareabroadband.net, and www.bikesonthebricks.com. Matt has also illustrated for technical manuals for the U.S. Army. Matt’s college coursework has included courses in signmaking, creative advertising, web design, corporate identity, typography, editorial design, digital illustration, public relations, flash animation, and many other communications courses.Specialties: Matt’s four main areas of specialization are (in order): 1) Large-Format Design, 2) Web Design, 3) Illustration, and 4) Information Graphics.
