Leverage extensive industry knowledge to provide consultation to the Institutions of Higher Education market around student health insurance plan management and program administration. Negotiate insurance plan renewals and/or manage RFP process on behalf of the University. Develop custom operational support to offload administrative burdens from plan administrators. Develop emerging markets with local carriers. And head thought leadership initiatives, including white papers, newsletters, and conference presentations.

Built and lead highly productive teams team of Client Service professionals who are responsible for customer retention, strategic plan development, and program implementation for assigned blocks of business. Currently responsible for 100,000 insured members, representing over $200,000,000 in revenue, and serve as the executive sponsor on nine key customers (including three Premier programs) . The team averaged just under 100% renewal rate over the last three years, and organically grew existing membership by 1.5% annually over the same period.

Led Health Care Reform implementation for Aetna’s Student Health division, including heading several multi-dimensional workstream groups. Interfaced with Government Affairs and Policy Advocates to shape policy geared at safeguarding this market segment. Developed sales and retention strategies geared at preserving and growing Student Health business in post reform era. Built infrastructure allowing Client Service and New Business teams to consultatively engage customers on the impact of Health Care Reform on their campus. Featured speaker at industry conferences, panels, and symposiums.

Primarily responsible for annual contract renewal, strategic planning and overall plan management at Aetna Student Health (formerly known as The Chickering Group). Lead overall account plan management for 13 client Universities in 08-09, representing over $62,000,000 in premium and 50,000 members, including three premier accounts. Acted as executive sponsor on four transitioned programs, and participated in Mentor Program, providing guidance, support, and direction to two different Account Executives.Promoted to Director of Client Services in December 2007.

Managed day to day processes and other client service obligations for assigned block of client schools at Aetna Student Health (formerly known as the Chickeirng Group). Led initiative to redesign the internal tracking systems, providing greater efficiencies throughout the department. Developed materials and trained staff on plan enrollment reconciliation process. Promoted to Account Executive in October 2001.

Acted as sole point of contact for Small Business and Select Market Plan Administrators. Managed enrollment transactions, resolved claims issues, and consulted on benefit inquiries. Assisted in Medical Underwriting process for Individual Products. Received SBSM Community Service Outreach Award.
