Accuoss is a premier IBM business partner and a provider of its own software and solutions. Collectively - Accuoss has near 200 years of service provider OSS architecture and development experience. I was lucky enough to meet the Accuoss team in roughly 2014 (Rodney, Brad and Dave .. ) and they quickly became one of my top 2 Netcool integration partners (OSSI being the other) due to their heavy engineering skillset relative to the others.I left IBM in early 2017 - by choice and mostly due to complete boredom plus spending way too much time on internal IBM nonsense that had nothing to do with technology or innovation. Luckily the Accuoss owner (Rodney) offered me a position and I accepted. At one point during an IBM conference Rodney "slipped up" and called me CTO. I ran with it ;-).I was (and still am) very fortunate to work with the entire Accuoss team. Illuminatus Holdings (my company) is a strategic partner to Accuoss.

Executive Architect

Ibm

Worldwide

IBM/Tivoli Software acquired Micromuse in 2006. This acquisition, plus the ensuing years of grinding, dedicated work by many "Tivolians", "IBMers" and "Netcoolers" brought the Netcool suite to the definitive number 1 spot for IT Operations and Network Management. The combination of Tivoli's strong presence in the enterprise space plus Netcool's strong presence in the telco/service-provider space made Netcool the 'top-dog' in its industry. Netcool is/was the real-thing while other players simply tried to keep up. I can proudly state that my work (and deravitives of my work) formed an important part in that "we're number 1" story.I held various titles and performed in various job roles while at IBM. All of the following activities I led (more than once and usually during the same week): Write *and* negotiate contracts to closure; Write source code in one or more high-level languages; Oversee multiple customer and partner deployments simultaneously; Partner support; Technical-sales support; Post-sale transition support; Developed the final pre-GA version of the ESF - reimplemented and productized by IBM circa 2009. (Note that the pre-GA version of ESF had 200+ downloads ... not too bad for a guy who never formally held a software engineer or product manager position at IBM ;-)My final two years at IBM were mainly spent working with AT&T and Sprint (now T-Mobile). My career had come full circle - having worked on Netcool at Sprint in the late 90's and being the lead architect for the original AT&T Netcool deployment circa 2004. Basically, not much had changed in over a decade. I wrote a one-off license tracking tool for Sprint's Netcool entitlements and I led the technical sale for both accounts - simultaneously. I'm confident in saying that neither Sprint nor AT&T would be customers w/o my work. I'm further confident in saying that most service-provider customers, worldwide, would not be Netcool customers were it not for my work / leadership.

Jan 2006 - Jun 2017

Principal Solutions Architect

London, United Kingdom

I held multiple titles (and fulfilled multiple roles) while at Micromuse - with my last position being the architecture lead for the advanced solutions team (called Advanced Architecture Group or, simply, "AAG"). The AAG was responsible for developing best-practices and leading offering delivery / implementation - worldwide. Prior to the IBM acquisition (see above section for details) - the AAG was transformed into (partially) a paid consulting team. I aided in the development of our business plan and led the development for our technical engagement model. Notably, I led the design, development, implementation and support for the first 3 versions of the Netcool/OMNIbus "multi-tier" architecture - originally called Event Service Framework (or, ESF). The "multi-tier" architecture is still widely in use to this day (15+ years after its inception) and still serves as a best-practice / reference architecture for the entire IBM Netcool ecosystem.
