I am a dedicated and accomplished leader with a passion for public service and community development. Serving as the General Manager of Mid-Western Regional Council (MWRC) for the past nine years, I bring a wealth of experience and expertise in local government administration.My educational background includes a Bachelor of Building from the University of NSW, a Graduate Diploma in Education from the University of Technology Sydney, Australian Institute of Company Directors Certificate, and an Associated Certificate of Applied Management. With a career in local government spanning over 17 years, I have a proven track record of effective leadership, playing an instrumental role in steering the Council towards achieving its strategic goals and ensuring the efficient delivery of essential public services.Before my role as General Manager, I served as the Director of Operations for seven years, overseeing capital projects totaling approximately $40 million annually. Additionally, I successfully managed my own building and construction business for 19 years. Currently, I serve as the Chair of Housing Plus, with over 20 years of experience as a Housing Plus Board member, including 11 years as the Chair. Overcoming the housing crisis for single women over 55 has become a particular focus and passion of mine in this role. I am also current Chair of the Orana Regional Development Australia Committee and the sponsoring General Manager of the Orana Water Utilities Alliance. Recently, I was appointed Chair of the Royalties for Rejuvenation – Central West Expert Panel and became a member of the Orana Central West Renewable Energy Zone Steering Committee. Additionally, I am the founding Chair for the Country Universities Centre in Mudgee.Throughout my career, I've demonstrated a strong ability to work collaboratively with elected officials, community stakeholders, and council staff to address complex issues and implement innovative solutions. My keen strategic vision has helped MWRC adapt to the ever-evolving needs of the community while maintaining fiscal responsibility and accountability. Additionally, I have played a key role in securing grants and funding for infrastructure projects, enhancing the overall quality of life for the community. My commitment to creating a brighter future for the Mid-Western Region, its residents, and visitors is unwavering. Through my leadership, dedication, and commitment to progress, I continue to shape the Council into a thriving and vibrant community that residents are proud to call home and visitors don’t want to leave.
