I am an Outdoor Recreation professional and a canoeing and camping enthusiast. I currently live and work on the shores of Lake Superior and wouldn't rather be anywhere else. I have experience in several industries including education, management, and hospitality, as well as a healthy stage acting portfolio, theater being one of my passions.Each year I hire and train a team of people, typically at or around college age, to be canoe guides and mentors to the campers at Amnicon Adventures & Retreats. I also help with many of the day-to-day operational and administrational functions at Amnicon.Through all of my work experience, not just my work at Amnicon, it has become obvious to me that our future is in the hands of our children, and our children need to see and understand what the world is without edifice and industry, how to trust people even when you don't agree with them all the time, and that they are capable of more than they can currently imagine. My favorite method for this type of mentorship is canoeing. No other art is so simple, so communal, and so effective at accessing wild and peaceful places where long thoughts and long conversations are possible. For many of the same reasons, I am passionate about theater, and have been a stage actor all my life. A big part of educating people is holding up a mirror to humanity and culture, and theater is the best tool for that job.
