NanoString is a leading provider of life science tools for discovery and translational research whose mission is to Map the Universe of Biology. NanoString’s business was acquired by Bruker in May 2024, capping off 20 years as an independent company.I led the growth and evolution of NanoString for 14 years, growing the business from ~$12M to ~$168M in revenue and the workforce from ~70 to 700+ associates. Key achievements during my tenure included:• Establishing a corporate culture underpinned by the values of Ambition, Authenticity, Customer-focus, Grit, and Ingenuity • Evolving the nCounter platform into leader in gene expression for research & diagnostics, building an installed based of >1,100 instruments and delivering the FDA clearance of the Prosigna breast cancer assay• Partnering with leading biopharma companies Merck, Celgene, Medivation, and Astellas to develop companion diagnostics for cancer• Pioneering Spatial Biology, launching the GeoMx Digital Spatial Profiler and the CosMx Spatial Molecular Imager to build a $100M+ business in less than four years• Leading an IPO in 2010, followed by a decade as public company with a peak market cap of more than $3 billion
