My primary duty was to ensure seamless flow and delivery of financial services to the Foundation's program and field staff members by revamping finance and accounting operations. Responsible for optimizing financial reporting systems and build capacity among field staff for financial reporting, financial analysis, and forecasting by directing the global automation of strategic systems. Implemented vigorous and effective training mechanism to ensure effective use of the tools developed to enhance financial reporting and analysis. Expanded the internal audit and compliance departments both at Headquarters and in the field, mitigating potential risk factors. Operationalized the Foundation's strategic plans by working in close collaboration with senior leadership. Established a much desired knowledge management initiative and directed the talent development and retention efforts of the Foundation.> Manage end-to-end finances, human resources, and field operations for a $200M+ NGO across 13 countries in sub-Saharan Africa with headquarter offices in the USA. > Adjusted strategies within Operations to accommodate more than 200 percent growth of the organization over a time period of seven years; restructured staffing and reduced overall operational expenses during this time period by approximately 20 percent.> Prevented costly upgrades of hardware and software systems occurring simultaneously by formulating and implementing a rolling capital improvements plan.> Reduced by more than half the amount of time required to produce financial reports and analysis for the organization. > Supervised and directed six different divisions and a total of approximately 300 global staff.

Served as the President’s senior lead in directing operations for the White House Office and the Executive Office of the President overall; an entity with a total staff of over 2,000. Revamped the Office of Administration (OA), a component within the EOP, to ensure more effective and efficient delivery of enterprise services to the entire EOP. Enabled EOP entities to prepare for and withstand cuts in budgets without negatively impacting policy and program requirements through strategic planning and sound budget processes. Organized staffing structure and streamlined business operations within the Executive Residence at the White House. Spearheaded the modernization of non-classified IT systems throughout the EOP and worked to secure approval for funding through Congress. Conducted extensive planning for the arrival of the incoming President and his staff. Directed efforts to enhance the safety and security of the President and the staff on the grounds of the White House.> Managed the delivery of enterprise services throughout the EOP along with leading and mentoring a team of 400 staff. Managed annual budgets totaling $200M.> Seamlessly led all efforts with counterparts from the out-going Administration to ensure a smooth and successful transition of the Obama Administration to the White House. This transition is regarded by both the Bush and Obama Administrations as well as by historians as being one of the best transitions of power in US history.> Ensured all public and private events held at the White House were financed and well supported by the White House Management and Administration office.

Led and directed operations during a time of dramatic growth of a new progressive think tank in Washington, DC. Over the five-year period, CAP grew from just a few staff in 2003 to well over 200 staff members with an annual budget of over $30M. Effectively managed finances to ensure a full-year of operating reserves were built by the end of 2008. Ensured compliance with IRS and other government regulations for activities undertaken by both the charitable (501 c-3) and activist (501 c-4) arms of the organization. Served as principal staff support to members of the Audit Committee of the Board of Directors.> Oversaw financial, administrative, operational and physical growth of the organization since inception while successfully managing the growth to over 200 personnel and annual budget of $30M.> Managed finances to ensure a full year of operating reserves were built within a five-year time period.> Directed the construction of new office space totaling over 60,000 square feet.
