· Provides support for a wide range of federal and state efforts to increase access to syringe services programs (SSPs) and other forms of harm reduction throughout the United States, using AIDS United’s unique national and local resources to highlight the importance of increased government and private sector support for harm reduction· Engages in analysis/research of the policy landscape surrounding HIV and issues of drug user health· Works with AIDS United Public Policy Committee (PPC) Members, Syringe Access Fund (SAF) coalition grantees, AIDS United’s Capacity Building Assistance program, and other collaborating organizations on issues affecting syringe access, HIV and viral hepatitis prevention issues, overdose prevention, access to medically assisted treatment, safer consumption sites, and intersecting forms of criminalization;· Produces written content, including assisting in writing, editing AIDS United’s Policy Update, drafting letters, policy-related documents, fact sheets and other written communication materials as needed, including AIDS United’s Elections Resource Center· Chairs the Coalition for Syringe Access, a organization of stakeholders from all across the country dedicated to promoting the adoption & success of syringe services programs and harm reduction initiatives to end the overdose, HIV & viral hepatitis syndemics in the U.S. This position also entails maintaining the Coalition's social media presence, developing fact sheets, and organizing actions for harm reduction advocates.· Engages in development work for AIDS United's policy department and various harm reduction related initiatives. Responsibilities include grant writing and reporting, as well as distribution of funding overseen by AIDS United and the Syringe Access Fund.

- Creates content for and maintains AIDS United's Policy Update and blog, which provides trenchant analysis of developments in Congress and federal and state governments that impact people living with or affected by HIV. AIDS United's blog was recently named one of the Best HIV Blogs of the Year by Healthline.- Provide policy and advocacy assistance for AIDS United's policy department and for the 47 HIV service organizations that constitute AIDS United's Public Policy Council. This assistance includes organizing and leading Hill visits, conducting research and reporting out on issues related to Congressional appropriations, the Affordable Care Act, syringe service providers and pharmaceutical policy (particularly around the 340B Drug Pricing program).- Draft grassroots advocacy action alerts to be distributed among community partners and the general public and assist the policy department with the drafting of letters, policy-related documents and other written communication materials;- Created AIDS United's Elections Resource Center for the 2018 midterm elections, which helps individuals inform themselves on the issues that are important to the HIV community and provides guidelines for 501(c)(3) organizations to safely and effectively engage in voter outreach and education.- In collaboration with AIDS United staff and community partners, provide logistics management and support for AIDSWatch, the nation’s largest annual constituent-based national HIV/AIDS advocacy event.

- Writes feature and opinion pieces for The Body, a comprehensive web resource for HIV/AIDSnews and information. (List of articles available here: http://goo.gl/W4eqD2)- Produces content that often focuses on the role that stigma and discrimination play in the lives ofHIV positive people, with particular attention paid to populations of color and HIV denialism.- Published several pieces concerning the interplay of HIV/AIDS and issues related to substanceabuse.- Covers the role of HIV/AIDS policy and issues in US politics.

- Helps the leadership of Shoulder to Shoulder fight Islamophobia and work with a wide array of religious and faith-based organizations to take a public stand against anti-Muslim bigotry in the United States. - Primary responsibilities include providing content for the Shoulder to Shoulder Campaign blog, covering interfaith and anti-Islamophobia rallies and marches, doing research on opportunities for cooperation and engagement with members of Congress and engaging with faith-based organizations and religious denominations to build a grassroots movement to create an America that is safe and welcoming to Muslims and all those who are persecuted for adherence to their religion.

When I created Virally Suppressed in the spring of 2012, it organically developed from being a blog concerned principally with HIV/AIDS issues to a larger social media outlet that aimed to be a one-stop shop for progressive issues related to social justice, HIV, LGBT news, healthcare and politics. Virally Suppressed was built around providing trenchant analyses of current events as they happened with the goal being to provide readers with an engaging, independent alternative to the increasingly sanitized and uninformative offerings of mainstream digital media outlets.

- Provides case management services for People Living With HIV/AIDS throughout 8 counties in Northern Kentucky. Works with clients to link them with appropriate HIV primary care, medical and housing providers. - Assesses clients to determine their needs and, based on that assessment and the input of the clients formulate Individualized Care Plans that will help them adhere to their treatment, utilize social services and better their quality of life.- Provides education for client on how to reduce their risk of the transmitting the virus. Works with family and/or significant other of clients who may be affected or infected by the virus to get proper medical care and to utilize support systems to meet their psychosocial needs. - Performs community outreach activities.

- Worked within the Treatment and Recovery branches of the Office of Demand Reduction to try and promote the 2012 National Drug Control Strategy and further the Obama Administration's goals concerning drug policy.- Researched and wrote policy briefs and statistical analyses for ODR's Treatment branch, focusing on health care reform, substance abuse parity and medication assisted treatment for opiate addiction.- Composed read-ahead documents to prepare senior ONDCP officials for events & meetings.

- Responsible for performing intake interviews, initial bio-psycho-social assessments, barriers to treatment assessments and various case management work.- Maintained a small case load of 3-5 clients while helping other staff with their case loads. - Organized and administered a series of focus groups for clients from correctional facilities to improve quality of care for future ex-inmates. - Formulated a questionnaire for clients who had been lost to care based on suggestions from staff at JACQUES Prepared case files to ensure quality in anticipation of auditing.

- Helped create comprehensive after school programming for kids ages K-8, with a concentration on 4th and 5th graders.- Responsibilities included tutoring, monitoring children, providing fun/ educational activities and creating a library for the club.
