In 1998 I graduated from the University of Tasmania, Launceston with a Bachelor of Human Movement majoring in Physical Education & Health. I have taught HPE and held leadership roles as a Sports Director in State, Catholic and Independent schools. I am currently teaching HPE & I am the Junior Sport Coordinator at St Hilda's School on the Gold Coast. I hold a current Queensland College of Teachers registration.My Australian Rules Football career began as a junior at the Langwarrin Football Club on the Mornington Peninsula, Victoria. In 2006 I coached my first season of U18's as well as playing senior football for the club in the Mornington Peninsula/Nepean Football League (MPNFL). This U18 team won premierships in 2006, 2007 and 2008 and was the catalyst for me embarking on a career in coaching the sport. 2007 was my first year as a Senior Assistant Coach where the team made the Preliminary Final. By 2010 my family made the move to Queensland to break into Senior Coaching in the Queensland Australian Football League (QAFL). I hold a Level 3 AFL Coaching Accreditation and in this time I have coached as an Assistant and/or Head Coach at the Labrador Football Club, Southport Sharks (NEAFL-Northern Conference) and currently the Surfers Paradise Football Club on the Gold Coast. Development Coaching has been a key area of focus and passion. In 2014-2016 I coached youth at the Gold Coast Suns Academy. In 2015 I was an Assistant Coach for the Queensland Under 18 State Team (1st Division 2 Championships).In 2019 the Surfers Paradise Football Club achieved the ultimate success in the QAFL, winning the premiership for the first time in this respective league. It had also been 21 years since the club had won a premiership in their senior men's division. My coaching focus is on developing home grown talent and fostering positive team culture. I am a member of the National Interscholastic American Athletics Association (NIAAA) which brought me to the USA to attend one of the best professional development experiences of my career. I have presented at Level 2 AFL Coaching Courses on topics that include 'Developing a Game Plan' and more recently 'Team Culture & Building Relationships'. I am continually searching for ways to improve my coaching and public speaking skills.
