About Brad Small

Whenever I describe product management, I'm brought back to the quote: "The job is reducing the delta between product vision to project reality." The fact is that it's not just about coming up with a vision and delivering on it. Driving meaningful business growth and industry innovation depends on leading people to close the gap between that strategic vision and reality. I began my career in trading where I cultivated a deep understanding of finance and fixed income derivatives with global banks. During those years, I discovered a genuine passion for product development. When I built out the trading business at ING, I discovered that my methodical approach to problem solving and my commitment to building teams was a perfect fit for product management. I've since spent my career leveraging this expertise to create products and platforms that have not only generated hundreds of millions in revenue but have set industry standards.What I'm most proud of, however, is my track record for building product operational infrastructure that profoundly transforms business. I have built out product businesses in the FinTech space at Broadway Technology and Bloomberg. At Bloomberg, I created GOVY, a now industry-standard analytic tool. My approach to product management is rooted in building efficient processes and supporting my teams. I've created cohesive teams that work across product and engineering, giving different stakeholders necessary business context. My leadership philosophy begins with transparency and an ethos of supporting each contributor.
