Based at Seadrill’s Corporate office in Dubai, here I worked as part of a team to cleanse and standardize the Seadrill Global Inventory Catalog in preparation of implementing a new company ERP system (IBM Maximo). Created a new Supply Chain Audit format that focused on the offshore warehouses and also the onshore yard facilities.

Performing Supply Chain Audits on offshore drilling units targeting the offshore fleet warehouses and onshore yard facilities to ensure warehouse inventory was accurate, optimized and planned accurately, and to ensure policies and procedures were carried out in accordance to the companies Supply Chain Manual. This role involved regular visits to offshore rigs in various countries around the world. Also, during this time, I was involved in developing, testing and roll out of Oracle Procurement to replace the old IFS Procurement system for Seadrill which included final phases of development, testing and then training of buyers around the world. Also I was involved in the building aspect of IBM Maximo which will be the ERP system to replace the current IFS inventory management system currently used by Seadrill.

Base Manager for Seadrill’s offshore operations at Sonils Terminal in Luanda, Angola. This management role involved the total reorganization of the yards, management and training of the local crew, efficient material movement to and from the offshore rigs, working with the Seadrill Supply Chain Manager for the region to set up an efficient operation in regards to Inventory, Procurement and Logistics. Worked with a third party logistics company to ensure shipments moved efficiently in regards to customs clearances and transfer from the ports to our shorebase.

Joined Seadrill In Jan, 2008 as a Storekeeper based in Singapore for one year to set up the warehouse for a newbuild drillship. Also made trips to the shipyard in South Korea to oversee the warehouse construction. Sailed with the drillship to Nigeria where I was Sr Storekeeper for 2 years before moving onshore as Buyer.

Worked as a Senior Materials Coordinator on a Semi-Submersible drilling rig off Eastern Canada and Gulf of Mexico. With this job came the responsibility to coordinate and conduct duties in line with the policies and procedures included in the companies supply chain manual using Empac computer applications. These duties include: liaise with department heads in the preparation of materials requisitions and focus on planning to minimize urgent orders, maintain accurate records of received and outstanding requisitions and track the progress of purchase orders, maintain adequate stock levels of equipment spares so as to facilitate the continuous operation of the rig, perform cyclical inventory of stock in the warehouse, prepare manifest for all equipment dispatched from the rig either by sea or air. Mentor, develop and train new hires to ensure they are competent to work at their next job level.

Working on a semi-submersible drilling unit off eastern Canada, I worked as a roughneck on the rigs drill floor making connections and derrick operations while tripping in/out of hole. Trained new crew members on daily operations and safety standards. Participated in the company’s safety programs.

This work consisted of daily roughneck duties including connecting and disconnecting drill pipe using manual tongs, tripping in/out of hole, cleaning, environmental spill drills. Trained new crew members on daily operations and safety standards. Daily checks and inspections of engines and boilers.

This work consisted of daily roughneck duties including connecting and disconnecting drill pipe using manual tongs, tripping in/out of hole, cleaning, environmental spill drills and loader/bobcat operations. Trained new crew members on daily operations and safety standards. Daily checks and inspections of engines and boilers. Actively participated in complex rig moves and working with rig moving companies loading, unloading and rigging rig sections. This work involved working and living out of remote camps in Alberta and northern BC.
