Model pipelines using Pipeline Studio to determine capacity, surge potential and most efficient way to operate. These hydraulic models include batched systems on both refined products and crude oil pipelines. I have written custom python logic that turns DRA on and off, turns pumps on and off based on certain conditions and involves pipelines with multiple origins and multiple destinations.In addition, I have designed a custom PID valve for the model using Python code that allows the model to run with a valve controlled by a PID algorithm instead of the pressure regulator supplied with the model.I am also a subject matter expert on pumps. This includes working with pump vendors to re-rate existing pumps and and make sure the pumps are sized properly for desired throughput and proper efficiency. I also developed a metallurgical specification for both crude oil and refined products pumps.Currently, I am involved in the implementation of a rotating equipment reliability program and I have developed tools that measure pump efficiency to help determine wear levels inside a pump.
