I was a professional yachtsman for more than 20 years, earned multiple world titles and participated in seven America's Cup campaigns including five with Oracle Team USA. I was the "bowman" when OTUSA won the 33rd America's Cup in February, 2010.When the team won the 34th America's Cup in September, 2013 on San Francisco Bay, I was a backup "grinder" and USA 17 "boat captain".From January 2015 through to the 34th America's Cup match, held in Bermuda in June 2017, I held the role of "on-board systems manager". This transition from sailor to shore-based systems co-ordinator allowed me to utilize skills in systems design, supply chain, budget, personnel and schedule management.After our defeat in 2017 I was asked to help realize Larry Ellison and Russell Coutts' vision of a annual global sailing series. I was involved in the reimagining of the F50 to be a one design, high performance foiling race boat capable of sailing in multiple venues year round. I helped coordinate the design and build of the hydraulic, drive train and wing control systems, and ultimately the execution of SailGP. Founded ACsailingSF, Inc. in November, 2010 with entrepreneurial mission to bring sailing and the America's Cup to a wider audience.
