Brien McMahon High School, Norwalk, Conn., 9/05 – 6/07 Teacher, Special Education --Transitional SkillsDevelop and implement program to assimilate students with moderate to severe learning disabilities into the general student population, the workforce and the community. Focus on life skills, job skills and elementary-level academic concepts. Responsibilities include assessment testing to determine degree of disability, identifying instructional and behavioral management strategies for each student, and developing differentiated instruction to meet diverse developmental needs. Work includes conducting parent conferences, PPTs, IEPs; and directing the activities of five classroom aides. Head coach for junior varsity baseball team; involvement with Best Buddies program.
