Simplicity is a department within BBY designed around a total customer experience with their total technology needs. This program is designed to give the most professional service that clients could imagine with a single point of contact for all their needs. My primary objective is to facilitate the complete Simplicity solution by providing and fulfilling on lifestyle recommendations made by the Simplicity Program Advisor (SPA) regarding product, service, and content solutions. My Role is to work remotely to deliver, integrate, network, and/or repair consumer electronic devices as well as tutor customers on the operation of their products.

As a GeekSquad agent, I was responsible to perform advanced/complex installation of home theater/satellite/multi-room audio products and provide technical advice and assistance to clients. I completed calibration of clients tvs to optimize picture quality. I was trusted to manage my time and work independently and also run teams of 2 or more. Wireless networking was a big part of my day to day tasks. I would setup up networks from scratch and connect home theater gear and computers to it.

Best Buy Convergence team was designed to create relationships with other big accounts. When I joined, a partnership with Comcast had just been setup. We would complete Comcast jobs as a third party under the Best Buy name. I was responsible to work independently installing cable and setup up Comcast cable boxes, modems and phone systems. I was trained on how to tie VOIP (voice over IP) into existing alarm panels and existing phone systems. We were also expected to keep cable up to Comcast safety code. I.E. height of the cable drop coming into the house, making sure cable was properly grounded before entering house. We also were trained on how to retro fit cable into areas of a clients home where cable did not exist.
