As an expert practitioner and strategic analyst in U.S. and Middle East national and regional politics, defense, and security issues, I provide a contextual vision to achieve a future that others don’t see. During my time on active-duty U.S. Army Colonel assigned as Chief, U.S. Military Training Mission (USMTM) in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, I led the U.S. Government’s largest security cooperation organization (SCO) in the world. My organization managed all the U.S.-Saudi Arabia foreign military sales (FMS) activity. I oversaw more than 300 FMS cases with a total value of over $100B.Growing up in Tripoli, Libya and Tunis, Tunisia, I spent years visiting (and revisiting) the Graeco-Roman ruins and WW II battlefields throughout North Africa. It inspired a love of history that I retain to this day. I grew up surrounded by the landscapes and remains of places where some of history’s greatest generals earned a place in history, including Hannibal, Julius Caesar, Erwin Rommel, Omar Bradley, and George Patton.Choosing military career always seemed to be the most natural thing. I don’t recall a moment where I “decided” to be a career soldier. Rather, it just seemed to me to be the “thing to do.” Participating in the invasion of Iraq, I witnessed and participated in the making of history. At that time, I played a small, crucial role in building the first-ever non-NATO coalition military division that took over responsibility for operations in Southern Iraq. As the Senior Defense Official in 3 different countries on 2 different continents, my own reporting and that of my subordinates, dealing with defense and security issues, was briefed directly to 2 U.S. Presidents.Examples of My Leadership:► Delivered $30B Saudi commitment to pursue bulk of military modernization effort through government-to-government agreements utilizing the USG’s FMS process after creating a plan to embed U.S. military and civilian advisors within elements of the Saudi Ministry of Defense.► Won $250M border security Senor system delivery after creating first-ever Bilateral Country Action Plan aligning U.S. and Tunisian military efforts.► Secured $60M aviation support contract with Boeing Corporation by directing U.S. coordination with Saudi counterparts and building personal relationships with senior Saudi Ministry of Defense leadership.SPECIALTIES:• Business Development• Operations• U.S. and Middle East national and regional politics, defense, and security issuesFavorite Quote:“Loyalty to petrified opinion never broke a chain or freed a human soul.” —Mark Twa
