I have been a contractor for various companies and organizations in my multiple hat-wearing career. As a meteorologist and 28 year emergency management related public information and communications instructor for FEMA's National Disaster Emergency Management University, the California Governor's Office of Emergency Services California Specialized Training Institute, I share my subject matter expertise for WeatherCall Services, a mass notification service for dangerous/deadly weather threats to help businesses and individuals be informed when they need to institute their safety plans to either save lives, or safely make business shut down and reopen decisions. I am also a licenced real estate broker in NC, currently with Wayfinder Homes, LLC, in Winston Salem, NC.

Since 1996, I have been a contract instructor and exercise controller for meteorology, emergency information dissemination and social media in courses designed to help communities, counties, states and organizations in how to best prepare for and respond to, recover from and mitigate the affects of disasters, both natural and man-caused. I have taught emergency information and public information for courses involving earthquakes, tsunamis, hurricanes, tornadoes, flooding, terrorism and bio-terrorism. I also teach the emergency information dissemination portion of FEMA EMI's Advanced Public Information course, which includes aggressive use of social media. I have taught meteorology modules for hurricanes, flooding, and tornadoes, as well as general weather instruction. I also teach the G272 Warnings Coordination course for the EMI, mostly at conferences like the International Association of Emergency Managers annual conferences.

As the Senior VP, Weather Risk Management and an instructor in emergency information dissemination, I joined WeatherCall Services, LLC, as a contractor in 2010 after seeing their family of services save numerous lives in numerous tornado outbreaks across the United States. As the Chief Meteorologist at WAAY-31 in Huntsville, AL, I helped market WeatherCall's personal emergency weather notification system into the homes of thousands of North Alabamians. I watched life after life be saved after WeatherCall's delivery of National Weather Service short-fuse tornado, severe and flash flood warning via phone calls, emails and text messages to subscribers of their need to seek immediate shelter. Seeing it work and help save hundreds of lives, I joined the company in June of 2011 to help businesses and individuals secure the most reliable and accurate notifications available in the country today, so they can take safety measures when weather related events are imminent.

I developed weather programming, forecasting technology, managed the team of meteorologists, and prepared the launch of new networks for the Netherlands, Italy, Germany, and the UK.

I managed the day to day development, presentation and performance of the weather forecasting product, performed numerous public speaking engagements, and oversaw the graphics development and deployment of weather forecasting and graphics systems.

I was the weekend meteorologist and environmental and science reporter. I discovered and reported on numerous events and situations from weather effects to communities, families, and businesses, while ferreting out science related stories in other realms of science and how they affected the community.
