Fiber optics network maintenance and splicing.Technical support: Provides technical direction and support within and outside immediate team. Provides technical support and direction in network performance initiatives, outage resolution and identifies day-to-day improvement opportunities. Actively influences peers and others toward achieving common goals.Project management: Leads key projects / initiatives, providing day-to-day guidance to more junior technicians assigned to each given project / initiative. Highly organized, effectively reporting progress, challenges, resolution plans, and overall status appropriately.Operations: Identifies, researches, and develops process improvements and recommends them to management for implementation and assists junior technicians in doing the same. Uses in-depth knowledge to provide input on process improvements related to maintenance and repair activities. Creates job aids, scopes of work, method / statement of procedure, and helpful tools such as scripts.Continuous learning: Creates training material and facilitates training to peers routinely. Enrolls in and completes training requirements to stay current on existing and new systems and products, to grow skills, and to maintain proficiency on company values and organizational requirements.Also responsible for other Duties/Projects as assigned by business management as needed.

Responsible for coordinating and performing installation and maintenance of all network engineering equipment to ensure high-quality performance. Analyze complex network or equipment problems and take corrective action. Monitors, troubleshoots, and adjusts network equipment. Responsible for testing, locating and repairing equipment problems. Responsible for the testing and turn-up of new EBTS sites. Helps lead local element datafill, including BPX, MSC, GTS, and EBTS. Responsible for testing, trouble-shooting, and maintaining all T1, DS3, OC-level, and other network-related facilities. Responsible for FNE element preventative maintenance, tape backups, hardware repairs in maintenance windows, may also include managed access into local network elements. Point of escalation for technical support to Customer Care and other technical departments, including complex problem resolution, managing network outages and restoration, and assisting in root cause analysis; may include working closely with and guiding local vendors. Assists engineering staff in MSO integration, including equipment receiving, commissioning, administration, testing and turn-up, and cut-over. Responsible for local switch inventory control and management.

Design Network Trunking CLRs as well as facility circuits to support trunking and unbundled elements. Interface with Switch Translations as well as Operations and ILECs in working out issues that may arise. Monitor trunk utilization and worked with Traffic Analysts to ensure Network Capacity is maintained. Asked to coordinate and teach training courses for existing employees after three weeks on the job.

Responsible for new turn-up procedures concerning DS0, DS1, and DS3's. All aspects of installation and testing covered. Worked in a NOCC and fieldwork as well. Troubleshooting required, with field engineering and design. Detailed records keeping.

Contracted by tellabs to serve immediate install needs on short notice to install Titan 5500 for local loop carriers worldwide. Road warrior. Install power stations in 'live' environments. Installed new HI-CAP circuits and completing new turn-up procedures. Testing with IXC's, and BRC test centers.
