About Bradlee Speice

I'm fascinated by the intersection of Computer Science and Finance, and studying where those worlds connect. Most recently I've focused on low-latency development for Virtu Financial, building tools to improve the speed and efficiency of equities trading in both Agent and Principal capacities. Prior to that, my accomplishments as a Quantitative Analyst involved everything from a cluster-computing system for post-trade analytics to Bayesian Machine Learning models for passive order placement in dark pools.My interests in finance began while studying Computer Science as an undergraduate in Charlotte, NC with an internship at Bank of America. Following that, I pursued a degree in Financial Engineering at Columbia University, and I'm continuing to learn through both professional experience and personal projects. There are so many interesting challenges in trading and investing, and I believe sophisticated technology is the only way to address these. Whether the focus is understanding large datasets or responding quickly to subtle events, there are so many opportunities to understand and grow. The market is a competitive environment like none other, constantly challenging its practitioners with new questions. I'm studying how to make those answers possible, and learning every day.I'm looking forward to meeting you, and seeing what we can create.
