Short version: I have vast and broad experience in corporate and business law, including real estate matters, coupled with a whatever it takes approach to meeting the client's objectives without being an impediment to deal making. Serving the client's interest is always the objective.Or for the more formal summary:I have extensive experience in all facets of real estate acquisition, development (zoning, REA's, construction contracts, etc.), finance and disposition, including multi-state real state portfolio purchase and sale transactions and negotiation of several commercial loans for both borrowers and lenders, including mezzanine and equity participation loans. My extensive experience also includes drafting/negotiating commercial purchase and sale agreements (e.g. asset sale agreements), legal analysis of a variety of legal matters. I have also handled or participated in commercial litigation disputes involving a variety of disputes (including real estate and construction as well as larger commercial, industrial and high-end residential property tax appeals). Over the years, I have routinely functioned in role of general counsel to private and public companies, responding to a variety of issues varying from routine to complex. In this role, I frequently undertook commercial insurance coverage analysis and processing of large loss claims under all types of coverages including D&O, E&O, environmental, CGL, and employee theft and dishonesty. I'm rated "outstanding" in my field (by receiving the "AV" rating) by Martindale Hubbell and have received Michigan Super Lawyer recognition. I received a B.S., cum laude, from Western Michigan University in 1984 and a J.D., cum laude, from Wayne State University Law School in 1987.
