He facilitated research among My InnerView staff and academic faculty. He has authored several trade publications, research reports and has conducted seminars at national and state conventions.

About Harborside Healthcare. Founded in 1987 and based in Boston, Massachusetts, Harborside Healthcare Corporation operated managed 76 long-term care facilities including skilled nursing, residential care, and independent living through its affiliates. These facilities offered skilled nursing care, sub acute care programs, orthopedic, cardiac, pulmonary, wound care, and hospice services. Additionally, Harborside provided physical, occupational, and speech rehabilitation therapy services through its affiliated facilities. At the time of its acquisition by Sun Healthcare Group Inc. in April 2007, Harborside had revenues approaching $800 million annually.In his role at Harborside, Mr. Shiverick oversaw seven functions critical to quality assurance and corporate/facility reputation management, including: customer service, satisfaction management, outcomes management, oversight of regulatory performance and issues, public relations, public speaking, and strategic planning.Accomplishments include:• Designed and implemented satisfaction monitoring tools for all target populations.• Spearheaded development of a six-part customer service program that resulted in:• An increase in customer satisfaction from 68.9% in 2002 to 79.2% in 2004.• Number 1 overall ranking in customer satisfaction among Alliance for Quality Nursing Home Care member companies in 2005 - 2006.• 39 deficiency-free state surveys.• 37 American Health Care Association/National Center for Assisted Living (AHCA/NCAL) National Quality Awards—32 Step I awards and 5 Step II awards.• Produced a first-in-industry, comprehensive quality report, published annually since 2004, that set a public accountability standard for quality performance.

Directed all business functions related to AHCA Facilitator(tm), a software-based quality management system. Solely responsible for contract management, budgeting, strategic planning, oversight of software development, sales and marketing, and research.Generated $1.2M in annual revenues through sale of 1,200 licenses.

Managed the research and information services group, providing consultation services to the long-term care industry on financial and regulatory issues. Developed measures of facility performance. The pilot project for the national Prospective Payment System implemented in 1998. NHCMQD developed the RUGS-III case mix and Quality Indicator (QI) systems. Researched, developed, implemented, and provided analysis for key NHCMQD projects.Designed and implemented systems for Medicare skilled nursing facility payment. Oversaw design and development of a data system for nursing facility clinical assessment data collected at 2,700 sites in six states. Conducted analyses on the design of a case-mix prospective payment system for skilled nursing facilities (RUGs-III). Participated in the design of quality indicators for nursing homes. Coordinated the NHCMQD Data Specifications Team. Supervised staff and outside consultants.

NEW YORK QUALITY ASSURANCE SYSTEM (NYQAS) PROJECT; A New York-based system for monitoring, evaluating, and paying nursing facilities using patient outcome results and resident severity to determine payment rates and target surveillance activities.; Participated in the development and testing of quality indicators for regulatory surveys of nursing facilities. Developed models for case mix reimbursement of nursing facilities. Designed and conducted analyses of nursing staff time studies. Analyzed survey and resident assessment data.
