The company focused on field extensions via the application of enhanced recovery technology to productive formations in and near proven oil and gas fields. Mr Mitchell is the leader of Energia Tejas' strategic plan of being an 'early mover' in oil plays. He manages the prudent allocation of capital over the company's prospect to pipeline and divestiture cycles. Brad also heads business development and marketing for Energia Tejas, buying oil prospects and executing divestitures for the company. He is actively engaged in prospect generation, petroleum land work, geology, engineering, marketing, and finance. Mr. Mitchell led the company as an early mover into two large East Texas plays: the Horizontal Woodbine oil trend and the Rodessa oil development. In each case, Energia Tejas was ahead of the competition and assembled thousands of acres of drilling blocks among and adjacent to existing production, then marketed, negotiated and closed an AMI with an industry partner. The Woodbine oil project resulted in a 58,000 acre AMI with Chesapeake Energy in 2010. In 2013, working interest in the Woodbine oil project was divested to Energy & Exploration Partners. The Rodessa oil project was partially divested to O’Brien Energy in a 2012 AMI agreement covering 25,000 acres. As of Q2 2016, this conventional reservoir project is producing 3900 BOE/day (2/3rds oil). During this time, Brad has actively participated in the evaluation of more than a hundred oil and gas ideas and prospects for discoveries and field extension opportunities.
