Skip-Line, Inc. designs and manufactures high tech electronic control systems for highway construction equipment. We are the top brand for highway striping controllers in the United States and Canada, and proudly manufacture all of our products at our headquarters in La Grande, Oregon.As COO, I am responsible for overseeing production and technical support during a period of historic double-digit growth at Skip-Line. This includes retooling our manufacturing processes to be compatible with the latest high technologies we employ in our products, designing interdepartmental workflows, policies, and processes that can sustain this growth, and integrating our team workflow with ERP and other technologies. In addition to these internal processes, I also manage the company's overall business model and B2B relationships with our customers.

Work with customers and product stakeholders, as part of a great development team, to develop new and meaningful electronic innovations for the road construction industry.

Identified product potential for the "Rowan Greenhouse Control and Monitoring System" and organized a management team to take it to market. Created strategic vision for the company. I also headed R&D and product development efforts for our greenhouse and nursery related robotics and control systems.

Primary responsibility was electronic product design, including schematic capture, PCB layout, and firmware programming. Also participated in embedded Linux system design. Non-technical responsibilities at various times also included billing, shipping, purchasing, inventory management, email/phone technical support, field testing and support, product training, internal database application development, and website development (front end & back end).

Interned with the Robotics Institute at CMU to design an automated greenhouse irrigation and monitoring system. After designing the prototype, I returned to Oregon to field test with Bailey Nurseries, Inc.Responsibilities included project specifications, schematic design, PCB layout, wireless network design, firmware development (GNU C), web interface design, and Python programming.

Volunteer position. Worked with the minority Vietnamese population for two years in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. Among other tasks, I taught English classes and translated for charities to enable food/clothing distribution and clean water projects.

Worked on various computer programming and website development projects on an as-needed basis.

Entry level seasonal temporary worker. Worked on road construction crews as a flagger, pilot car driver, and ground crew member for paving, shouldering, chip seal, crack seal, and brush clearing projects.
