I lead the Engineering Teams at Toast driving Product Led Growth (PLG) and Food Delivery. Through this PLG work, we're helping Toast transition from a sales-led buying + manual configuration process into one based on Self Service and intuitive onboarding flows. This has resulted in restaurants being able to come onto the Toast POS platform in record time while also driving adoption of key module add-ons. I also lead development of Toast Delivery Services, a seamless way restaurant owners can add Delivery on-demand for their guests in a cost-effective and scalable manner without the high commissions associated with Third Party Ordering platforms. Since launching in March 2020 at the beginning of covid, we have helped thousands of restaurants stay in business.

As a member of the CTO team for Cisco Cloud Security, I help shape the strategic direction for the Cisco Umbrella product with a particular focus on security, policy, identity, and networking. My role focuses on developing a deep technical understanding of the applicable technologies and market, and using that to further the portfolio roadmap and product architecture with an emphasis on 3-12 month time horizon. This is a highly collaborative and diverse role working with a mix of product managers, architects, and engineering leads Recent projects and accomplishments: * Over a six month effort, operated as subject matter expert on the development of a new cloud-based Secure Web Gateway partnering with engineering directors, product managers, and the project architect to turn around a project that was stalled for over a year. * Co-developed with Enterprise Networking BU, a joint architecture and roadmap for Umbrella to leverage Cisco's on-premise networking portfolio. This effort spans joint policies, identity, routing, and security services and will result in significant net-new revenue over the coming fiscal year. * Led acquisition of a 10 person product team from a different Cisco business unit to shape our new Application Discovery product. Acting as CTO, I helped shape the technical and business direction for the product, which now has over 11,000 active customers.

As a member of the Cloudlock CTO team, I helped fuel Cloudlock's expansion by owning the technical relationships with our 3rd party platform partners like Google, Microsoft, Dropbox, and others. This work involved partnering with engineering and product at those organizations to build highly scalable APIs for Cloudlock to consume. Key Accomplishments:* Re-shaped the Dropbox for Business Content APIs and then supported Cloudlock's engineering team to be a launch partner. This API is used at scale by dozens of Cloudlock customers in addition to thousands of Dropbox for Business customers. * Early partner for Microsoft on new Office 365 Management APIs resulting in co-launch. Supporting this API required some major reworks of the Cloudlock platform, which I helped architect. * Developed integration framework that enabled Cloudlock to rapidly expand to cover Identity platforms and then led partnership with third party vendors to fold into that framework.

Since March of 2013, lead core development of a backend processing platform to efficiently process and analyze streaming data from different cloud vendors such as Google, Salesforce, Box, and others. The implemented pipeline system processes millions of documents a day with a goal of analyzing document updates as close to real-time as possible. Over 20 developers are now working on top of this system and Cloudlock is working to transition the legacy system over to this one in the first half of 2015. The system is based on Python, Celery, Rabbit MQ, Redis, Twisted, and Postgres. I helped with technology selection, prototypes, and productizing our usage of everything from Rabbit MQ for messaging to SQL Alchemy for query development to Librato for monitoring and alerting. The technology along with the rest of the company was acquired by Cisco in August of 2016 for $293MM.Additional Responsibilities: * Serving as Database Administrator responsible for monitoring Postgres performance in production, managing indexing strategy, and fixing slow performing queries. * Work closely with Technical Support and Operations to troubleshoot complicated customer issues and ensure the system meets uptime requirements. * Work with the architecture team to develop the vision for the platform as the platform expands to support 3rd party API access, additional vendors, and a substantial increase in customer load.

Led the development of various key features on the (now) legacy product that is responsible for monitoring documents stored in Google Drive for millions of enterprise customers around the world. The software analyzes document content for potentially sensitive content like PII, PCI, and IP. The software is written in Python and runs on Google App Engine. The key work I performed involved rewriting the use of the GAE Data Store that allowed the product to scale to its current levels as well as some key refactorings on the UI. I also led the unsuccessful effort to rewrite the product on GAE. This failure then spawned the next rewrite (described in my other position) which is now powering Cloudlock's growth.

I lead the web development team at CrunchTime where I am in charge of the web component of CrunchTime's two main products, Net-Chef and Enterprise Manager Web. With just 10 developers at CrunchTime, my time on any given day is split between Lead Developer, Technical Lead, Architect, and Manager.I am currently leading the transition away from a custom built UI and MVC framework to one based off the shelf technologies like Knockout JS, Datatables, and REST. This transition will reduce development costs while increasing developer productivity and free us from having to maintain our own infrastructure.
