In this role I was responsible for a $20 million benefit budget and managed the administration, compliance, and overall design of the benefit plans. I worked intimately with the board to acheive employee satisfaction by designing a comprehensive benefits plan that rewarded the employee but did not disrupt Janney’s overall financial goals.Through a multi-year process I was able to streamline the plan design and administration so that Janney could implement a comprehensive benefit plan that was competitive with the market while maintaining financial responsibility.

I was hired at Janney to assist in a complete review of the health & welfare plans and design a five year plan which would culminate in 2010 with a streamlined approach to plan design and administration. This entailed reviewing the financials & performance of each benefit & carrier, setting up employee surveys and focus groups, and working with our consultant to ensure Janney’s Health & Welfare plans maximize the benefit offered for the dollars spent.

Managed the corporation’s health & welfare plans. Ensured that all parts of the business had access to the necessary benefits to attract and retain key employees. Maintained strong vendor relationships in order to keep overall benefit plans evolving from year to year and ensured the budgeted dollars were maximized.

Successfully handled the administration of the Health and Welfare plans which allowed me to learn the process of benefits from the bottom up. In this position I was directly responsible for working with the vendor to identify inefficiencies in the administration process and develop solutions. I also oversaw the legal compliance of the benefit plans and ensured PMA was not intentionally working outside the law.

Single point contact on employee relation issues for approximately 450 employees in both Home Office and Field Operations. Worked directly with management team to ensure departmental needs were efficiently met in the areas of hiring and employee relations.
