I am interested in working with young children. My first experience working with young children was when I volunteered at a nonprofit organization called Liam Nation throughout my high school career. Liam Nation is an organization that supports those with physical and/or cognitive challenges by teaching them how to play a variety of sports. When accepted into the University of New Hampshire, I chose to major in Human Development and Family Studies in hopes to focus on Child Development. I was able to study Child Development in college, and with this, I focused on Early Childhood Education. I have done a few internships through college courses, two at the Child Study and Development Center, and two in public elementary schools. I also worked part-time as a teacher's assistant at the CSDC. In my senior year of college, I had the opportunity to be in UNH's P-3 Program, which is a program to help me get my certification in ECE. I was in a first-grade classroom at Barrington Elementary School where I taught lessons that went with the curriculums Math in Focus, Fundations, and the Reader's Workshop. I also had experience leading reading conferences, conducting DRAs/running records, participating in IEP meetings and PLCs, and creating lessons with other staff in the elementary school. Some other information about me is that I was on UNH's Dean List during these semesters: Spring 2017, Fall 2017, Spring 2018, Fall 2018, Spring 2019, Fall 2019, and Spring 2020. I also graduated magna cum laude at UNH with an overall GPA of 3.82 and a department GPA of 3.93. I currently hold my BEC in Early Childhood Education and am certified in Adult and Pediatric CPR/First Aid/AED.
