Project: Flexible polymeric pacemaker leads Supervisors: Professor Rylie Green, Dr Fu Siong Ng and Dr Josef Goding. The project will aim to explore fabrication methods for scaled-up manufacturing of novel Conductive Elastomer pacemaker leads and to explore their methods of fixation, analyse robustness of adhesion, assess tissue damage, characterising mechanical and electrical properties, then assessing safety and efficacy with ex vivo and in vivo studies. The leads will be implanted chronically and ability to pace the heart will be assessed along with tissue damage analysis. MRI studies will also be conducted to assess MRI compatibility of the devices. Show less
