After transitioning from Founding Board Chair, I worked as Executive Director for The GLOBE Academy. The school is a dual-language immersion charter school serving children in grades K through 8th grade. I was responsible for creating the school, including fund development, writing the charter petition and setting the mission, vision, and direction of the organization, strategic planning, community organizing, and grant writing. In the role of Executive Director, I was primarily responsible for overall accountability, including oversight of the goals and objectives of our charter contract with the State of Georgia and the DeKalb County School District, data collection/analysis/reporting, oversight of the curriculum (development, implementation, and professional learning for faculty/staff), and fundraising/development/grant writing. I had responsibilities for a staff of over 50 employees.

In this role I worked as a liason and consultant for both internal (i.e.Teach For America initiatives such as the Early Childhood Initiative) and external (universities, researchers, etc...) research partners. I was also responsible for the creation and dissemination of a variety of research products speaking to the research surrounding Teach For America.

I served as the lead educational consultant in the start-up, launch, and implementation of this educational organization. Responsibilities included: curriculum development, all human resources functions including facilitating teacher hiring, mentorship and development, parent communication, and oversight and facilitation of the NAEYC Accreditation Process. I was also responsible for student recruitment and helped the center grow from 10 to 70 families within 1.5 years.
