About Brandon Enns
I recently completed my Master's Degree in Business Analytics at the University of San Diego, enhancing my skills using software such as Tableau, R, Python, PowerBI, and SQL. During my time at University of San Diego, I worked with the University of San Diego Men's Basketball Team performing data analysis using video, practice statistics, and game statistics to create visualizations and predictive models to enhance team strategic decision-making. Both of these opportunities led me to my current role with the Los Angeles Sparks, where I am helping to build out predictive models in areas such as draft modeling, salary evaluation, trade targets, self-scouting, and lineup predictors. I would love to connect with you and build out my network!

Basketball Analytics Intern
In this role I am working on helping the Sparks make Data-Driven Decisions at the team level. I have begun working on Draft Modeling, Prospect Evaluation, Identifying key metrics for success, and other Ad Hoc Projects.
Nba Future Analytics Stars
In this program I worked with upcoming professionals who are also passionate about Basketball and Data Analytics. We worked to solve business problems and basketball problems, in order to gain a full understanding of what opportunities are available for Analytics in the NBA. Some of the key topics were relating to Tracking Data, Python, R, Strategy, Sales, and much more. The Program came to a close with a capstone project that helped me to showcase my skills and the things I have learned. My Capstone related to Expansion Draft Analysis regarding the optimal number of player protections to allocate to teams, as well as simulating the outcomes of these hypothetical scenarios.
Basketball Analyst - Graduate Manager
In this role, I have been working closely with the Coaching Staff to identify potentially valuable insights for the USD Men's Basketball Team, leveraging my domain knowledge and technical skills to accomplish necessary tasks. I have developed a few models in Python for the team relating to Late Game Simulation to be used for situational analysis for late game scenarios. I also built out a play-by-play and lineup recorder in Python that can easily and efficiently record stats from games or practice for later use. Because of this, I have been able to create a predictive model for the success of lineups based on player strengths and weaknesses. Additionally, I have begun working to produce scouting reports, providing analytical insights about upcoming opponents as well as recommendations for how to counter the opponents' strengths and weaknesses. I have also been the point person for providing visuals, reports, and presentations to the coaching staff regarding the team's performance from an analytical perspective. Overall, I have implemented Python and Tableau into my work, and am currently working on a Machine Learning based Predictive Model for lineups.
Data Analytics Intern
Used statistical softwares and data visualization tools to perform regression analysis, statistical significance tests, create graphs/charts, and develop models to predict outcomes of games. I developed skills in Excel, Stata, Rapsodo, and PowerBI in order to effectively and efficiently execute the tasks at hand. I learned the importance of staying self-motivated, since I was often tasked with working on projects independently and on my own time, so it was important that I stayed responsible and motivated in order to ensure that the project would be completed.
Supply Chain - Planning Intern
In this role I learned the importance of good management and company leadership. I was brought in with little to no experience in a supply chain context but was trained by an amazing team that helped me understand the fundamentals of how a supply chain team should work. I was welcomed with open arms by the entire staff, including the CEO who catered me to lunch and was intentional about making sure my experience as an intern was enjoyable. In my role I was responsible for placing purchase orders for the necessary ingredients, supplies, and transporting materials for the Mountain West Region. I also helped coordinate the transportation and transferring of finished goods between regions and distribution centers. In my tenure the Mountain West Region improved the fulfillment percentage to one of the highest in the company after starting off as one of the worst. During this role, I developed skills in PowerBI, NAV, Excel, as well as working in a team setting. In supply chain, it is of utmost importance that every team member is on the same page, so learning to communicate with my team effectively became a strength of mine.
