Current• Coaches and mentors new employees on how to pass their CDL test, instilling in them a safety first mindset, and creating a pleasant and low stress atmosphere where they can succeed.• Administers CDL examinations in a highly efficient manner, resulting in highest grading during audits.• Conducts thorough accident investigations through effective questioning techniques and strong interview skills; as well as keen attention to detail when watching the camera footage and piecing the accident together, and utilizing information gathered in determining bad habits to fix or skills to retrain for towards becoming a better operator. • Oversees and personally administers hands-on performance evaluations by watching drivers during their duties, checking for alignment with skills and standards laid out by the agency and the Training Department, including any bad habits that they have developed; and using these observations to determine driver’s proficiency and if additional training is needed. • Ensures that optimal job performance is achieved and maintained by carefully reviewing and discussing with employees their areas for improvement based on performance evaluations or video.• Identifies job-specific hazards on routes, bus stops, and equipment by utilizing years of driving experience in approaching the evaluation from a driver’s perspective. • Conducts classroom presentations and on-road training for new Relief Transit Operators and SHUTTLE through methods like storytelling that creates greater information retention as well as better camaraderie among the trainees.• Assists with DriveCam, determines why the camera was triggered, and provides coaching to drivers to prevent the same dangerous habits from reoccurring. • Creates classroom curriculum, lesson plans, and PowerPoint presentations.
